Tip #4 - Set Written Goals

A study of Harvard MBA graduates revealed that 3% of the graduates earned more than all the others combined.

The top 3% had one discipline that distinguished them from the ordinary graduates: they all had written goals.

What about you?

Do you know how many transactions you hope to close by the end of the year? Do you know how many new clients you hope to add to your database? Do you know how much money you hope to earn in the next four months? If so, have you memorialized those hopes as written goals? The very act of committing a goal to writing has tremendous power to move you toward the achievement of that goal.

You manage your time more wisely, you focus your activities toward productive purposes, and most importantly, you begin to attract other achievement-oriented persons who can help you.  In this market many agents are complaining that sellers are unrealistic and buyers are non-existent.

Such complaints are an excuse for the lack of personal achievement and success. I know numerous top producers who are having their very best year ever. How are they doing it? They have set clear, ambitious, written goals and are working steadily toward the accomplishment of those goals.

If you'd like to join those top producers, here's an idea that can make you a lot of money: take a few minutes to think about what you really want, commit those goals to writing, develop action plans to achieve them, and begin celebrating your entry into the top 3% of the most productive people in America.
